Nectar Card Question

After years of saving points on my nectar card which I knew was probably the worst one out there, I got the princely reward of a £5 Argos voucher. As I now hardly use it I want to close my account down but there doesn't seem to be any official way of doing this.
Anyone out there know how?

Just throw it away.
And if you get Nectar emails, opt out.0 -

If you do surveys for TNS then you can have the points transferred to your Nectar card that way the points won't take years to accumulate.
Upto now this year I have £120 to be transferred to my Nectar from doing just the surveys then there's the points from my shopping, all helps at Christmas time.2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

Why would you want to cancel it? You still got a free £5 voucher.
I very rarely use my Nectar card, especially now they have stopped using Debenhams, but I still have one cos I wouldn't want to lose out on the points. They don't expire so I figure a free £5 voucher is still free regardless of how long it takes to get!
If you buy stuff online through the Nectar website then you can get extra points so it's worth checking out too.

Okay, I will answer as follows:-
Littlevoice-I wanted a more permanent solution, rather than just ignore and get bombarded with "why aren't you using your card" type of stuff through the door.
Diane - What is TNS? Not heard of it unless it is something dead obvious I am missing. I am signed up to several surveys, but they seem to take so long before the points add up. Yougov being one of the worst.
flutter - It has taken me since the nectar points system started to get the £5 voucher! As I am not getting any younger I will probably be dead before I get another one, and I am serious as I am not in good health. I would rather use my Tesco and Boots cards for any purchases I make as the points are far better. The only place in recent years I used my Nectar card was Sainsbury, and I very rarely go in there now as most of their prices are still higher than anywhere else, apart from some special offers. Also re the Nectar online store, I am in a financial situation where it is pay the bills, eat as little as possible so what I do eat is decent stuff, and have a little left over. Luxuries such as online shopping is out!
The best suggestion which was the most obvious came from xannus - ring them up:-) I shall do that this week. Although I will probably be fired at with a load of questions why, at least it should only be the once! Hopefully.0 -
I've been with them for about 4 years now and very reliable, get surverys almost everyday, they usually take a week to add the points to Nectar or Amazon if you choose, If you get screened out you still get at least 10 points.
The link is non refferal.

Thanks Dianne but it seems you need to be invited first by one of their team.
"Our panel is an invite-only panel, hence you are only able to join the MySurvey panel, when you are invited by one of our recruitment partners."0 -
I'm sure I joined TNS through Rpoints. Could be worth a look. Also try the Referrers boardsMust learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D
Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p

I have looked on their website and on my account and cannot find anywhere to cancel accounts so this link might help...

send them an email or ring them up because if you don't shop at Sainsbury's or online with them, you'll never earn very much0 -

I don't think TNS/My Survey automatically transfer them over every week now - you have to go online and request a transfer (and there may be a minimum number - do check).0
