Party bag costs - eeek!

I agree, forget the party bags and go with making something at the party. How about making fridge magnets by painting stones then sticking a magnet on the back, www.dealextreme.com have a great price on magnets and free postage
Or how about making a ring chain to fasten on zips using shrink plastic!Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
A few sweets, piece of the cake and a balloon. More than sufficient!0

For my DS party I gave homemade party cups, 12 plastic picnic cups for £1 with a tiny bag of haribo, a balloon, a small packet of crayons, a pencil (bought a multi pack and split them) and a small party favour from sainsburies value range which are currently 3 for 2, all wrapped in cello with a bit of curling ribbon, cost me less than £1 each and the kids and parents thought they were fab! We also made party crowns, if you have time to make something at the party that would be a great, and would save you having to come up with so many ideas to entertain them!0

How about a small book each? Costco (and lots of other places) do sets you could split and it works out very cheaply.0

30 small bags of Haribo sweets are currently 99p in Aldis at the moment. Sweets, bubbles, a balloon, some beads to make a bracelet and a piece of cake would make a good party bag.0

I got some chocolate coins that I am going to divide up and I have been looking at e-bay job lots which have some good party bag fillers. Think for the girls I will get some dolly beads too.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

I sometimes just get a 50p mix up for each bag and then put in a balloon for them to blow up and the birthday cake.
Sometimes, you can find a bargain for 50p, such as a plastic beaker with a character logo on or a nice little notebook and pens - just bulk buy for the party bags.0 -

Shops are starting to get chocolate coins in now, maybe get some bags of those for the pirate bags? Wilkinsons do packets of glittery pencils that are 12 for a pound, or glittery pencils with fluffy feathery tops 4 for a pound which you could split up for the princess ones? You can get tubes of about 25 glowsticks for a pound in most places too, the ones you clip into a bracelet, maybe split those up and put purple/pink/yellow ones in the girly bags and green/blue/orange ones in the boy's bags? Then I'd just do what everyone else has said and go with a few mini bags of haribo or other sweets, and a baloon or pot of bubbles.
