Hi all, after reading all the info about bank charges I Have decided to write the letter and claim them back plus interest which comes to £738. I am claiming under financial hardship as I work part time and just recently seperated from partner lone parent to a 2 year old and also pregnant, i have got priority debts with utilities etc, and receive means tested benefits to top up my income, childcare and rent and ct. Anyway I rang HSBC to get their address and they said that i shouldnt send in the letter and they will send my bank charges statement free of charge within 40!! working days and that they have logged my claim and to ring them when i get statement to see what can be done????? i am confused do i just take their word for it and do it on phone or should i send letter?? they still didnt give me the address assuring me it is all in hand, also do u guys think i will qualify under hardhip? Many Thanks in advance

I would wait for the list of charges since July 2001 if the account has been opened that long and then reclaim the charges.
If you are suffering financial hardship then you need to complete their I&E form

and then send copies of any notices of arrears to this address:
The Service Quality Team
HSBC Bank plc
Arlington Business Centre
