Q about my cd-rw

For some reason whenever I try to burn music on a disk all the songs work fine apart from the first track.
When you put it in the cd player just the first track you get static "fffffffffffff".
I tried lowering the speed and have tried doing it with windows media player and my Nero burning program.
If i copy music straight from another disk it works ok, it's only when it transfers from my computer.
Any ideas???

Using Nero, make sure you are using the Audio CD option to create the CD.
To experiment with different recording formats and avoid wasting CDs, use the Nero Image Recorder (selected in the device drop down list) to create an .ISO file image instead of burning a CD in your CD-RW drive. You can then use Nero ImageDrive to mount the .ISO file as a virtual CD and see if it plays okay on your computer. If it does, use Burn Image to burn the image to a CD.0 -
Are you sure that the first track is actually ok? Have you listened to it on the PC to check? If a disc to disc copy works perfectly then you can remove the cd writer and media as being likely causes. If you're burning a track that you obtained with P2P software then the track may be protected or deliberately damaged.
Try this:
1. Put a standard audio CD into the drive
2. Use Nero to extract all tracks to a folder on your PC
3. Create a new audio-cd compilation in Nero
4. Drag the tracks you extracted into your new compilation
5. click burn (highest speed)
Now try that CD in your hifi. If it plays correctly then there is nothing wrong with Nero, your CDRW or your media, its a file problem. He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0
