DD has applied for tuitin fee & maintainance loan too late for mainatinace grant?

As the title says DD is her wisdom applied for her finance with her step mum when neither of them knew anything about it all and didn't apply for the maintenance grant which I am sure she will qualify for. Is it too late now before I fill the forms in and gather all the bits they need?

Also on the assessment forms is asks about pension contributions what proof do we need of pension contributions? DH is SE so it is a private pension.

TIA

    Not sure about pension.

However if she has applied and everything I would leave it for now, wait a month, then fill in a change in circumstances form here, and ask to be income assessed.

Theres nothing on there about changing to income assessed so if I were you I would write a covering letter.

I wouldn't do it now as there are clearly problems already so don't do it yet.
  • So did she just apply for the non-income assessed funding?

The forms don't ask you if you want a maintenance grant or not, you are automatically assessed for it if your parents do their bit.

If your (assuming she lives with you) combined household income is below £50,020 for the 07/08 tax year, she will qualify for some grant, below £25k and she will qualify for all of it.

It is the PFF1 form you would need to complete NOT the change of circs form. If your income has dropped between 07/08 and now, you can complete the current year income assessment form as well.

It is not too late, she has until the end of May '10 to apply for all of the funding she is entitled to.

I have absolutely no idea she disappeared off to her Dads for the day and said that she and her step-mum had applied for it all while she was up there. They didn't even want her to go to uni :rolleyes2 I don't think even she knows what they applied for.

Thanks for the info though I will have a look at those links and try and sort it out. Going by those figures she should be entitled to the full grant.

Well I've been telling people for years its the change of circumstances form. I never actually looked at it until I wrote my post above.
