£6 Compost Bin

Ed_Stirling

Anyone know of any cheap water butts (subsidised) with drain pipe connectors, and cheap water butt stands (have you seen what they charge for a bit of plastic to raise it off the floor?) - now that would make sense, no?

Compost bins are free of charge in East Ayrshire but have to be collected (Wetern Road, Kilmarnock). There is apparently no limit on how many you can get (might go for 5000 just to test that

If you live in Kent, you may be eligible to buy a compost bin for £6 delivered via Thames Water. Go to the Thames Water website: http://www.thames2u.com/thames/index.htm and follow the instructions to order online.

The bins are supplied by a company called Blackwall, who supply nationwide. They seem to deliver in batches to keep costs down (presumably when sufficient orders have been received from a single region). My 330l composters were £6 each - similar sized ones are available from B&Q for £40+ . They took about 6 weeks to deliver, so get your order in early!

Lord_Gardener

Thanks, have just ordered 2.
