Buying and Selling a house what fees are involved?

Hello,

I'm hoping that I can get some advice on the fees that are involved in buying and selling a house. I have sold a house before and have bought a house, but never at the same time.

Are the estate agent and legal fees etc much more expensive for both? And does everyone have to get a HIP completed before selling?

I'm really excitied about moving into a new home but a bit naive about all of the costs that will be involved, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

I'm looking at doing similar -so jumping in with my Q's too!
I've only bought before, but now also need to sell and buy at the same time:
    How is it all co-ordinated?
Is it better to have a buyer lined up before finding a place? Or better to have an offer accepted, then find a seller, or just hope both occur at the same time?
Worried about been stuck in lengthy chains etc.
Current house should be easy to sell, in a sought after area.
does one need a Seperate conveyance - or do the estate agents handle it?
Better to a Seperate HIP? or again let the estate agents handle it.
What form is the HIP in? Does one needle multiple copies?
Removal firm? or hire a van? I'm looking locally so around 30 mile radius. current 2 bedroomed property. Should think a large self drive van and
some helping hands could do it all in a day.
Or - bypass the Estate agent and advetised on internet? and use a local solicitor for the conveyancing.
How is re-mortaging handled? Houses I'm looking at are larger- but actually cheaper due to location.
