Alliance & leicester ppi reply

Hi,
Am looking for some advice regarding my alliance and leicester loan ppi.
I wrote to them last week asking for a refund for ppi mis-sold on the grounds of my pending unemployment which they were made aware of.
They have replied very promptly with an offer of nearly £2000. however, the total amount of the ppi is £8000. I see no reason why I would not be entitled to the entire amount, but am nervous of writing to them again to request the entire amount in case they retract the initial offer and I am left with nothing.
I am currently in financial hardship and am under a DMP. £2000 would be a great help to me at the moment, but do I hold out for an increased offer? What if on further investigation they decide that I was not mis-sold the policy?
I have 28 days to reply to them. Can somebody tell me what I should do?
Thanks

Hi and welcome.;)
If your not happy, you can ask them if they are willing to reconsider the offer.
Is this account settled or active hun?
Of course you can always take your case to the FOS if they do not consider, hopefully they will, there is a lot of money there, so I understand what you mean here.
Good luck with this and hope they do this in your favour.;)
