Bit of an eye opener for me this thread.

Codger - Your response is typical of the tone of this thread, which seems to be to take Tesco's failures personally. You may think I am 'generous', but the truth is that I just look at it from their point of view. If you offer the option to change orders until the last minute, then you can't pick the orders until the last minute - you may think it's preposterous, but I think it is a logical reason for the problems mentioned on this thread. It's not something you can solve by throwing money at the problem - when two options are mutually exclusive, you have to decide which you think will be more appealing to customers and use that one. I am not denying that this causes inconvenience for some shoppers, but this is balanced against the convenience for other shoppers who prefer to be able to alter their order at short notice. If enough people complained about the problems in evidence here, then they would probably consider switching over to a different system, but it would have to be of a considerable benefit to their profit margins to be worth while.
I think I was clear enough in my earlier post as to how I can see why this is frustrating, but also understand how it can happen. Do you disagree, and think that Tescos are deliberately sabotaging their own orders so that they can sell less stock?
Online shopping at Tesco is a choice - I use it because it is convenient and easy for me, but if it stopped being convenient, I wouldn't assume it was a plot designed to mislead and upset me, I would assume that it was a system designed to suit the majority, of which I am not a member, and I can't fault a multi-national company for failing to cater for my individual needs over the needs of 'most' other people.0 -

It is funny how e-tailers like Amazon can offer the service of changing your order right up until it is picked. They also have stock control!
You have no logic in your post at all, the problem is about order fullfilment being based on delivery time and not the first come first served basis - this is the point we are making.0
