Unbelievable price increases from Scottish Power
Comments

The saga continues! As you may recall, I negotiated to have my payments increased to £79 from £65, effective from 22 June (and I have this in writing).
I am sure you know what I'm going to say now - they have taken the payment of £79 today so it looks like either I've lost a month or they've made a "mistake". I called them today and their attitude was "it's only an extra £15 - it's my £15 though, and £15 that I haven't budgeted for!!!! They have said they will refund me £15 but it will take about a week.
I have now decided to switch to London Energy - I am certain they can't be any worse that this shower. What makes it even more insulting is that my Mother is a shareholder in Scottish Power - maybe I should encourage her to attend the AGM this year and question the Chairman about their shocking customer services!
Feel better now that I've had a whinge.0 -
Hi pinkpauline34 have you done a price comparison if not have a look at
http://www.ebico.co.uk/ .

Thanks for the info but I used the link on this website and it appears that London Energy is the cheapest supplier for my area so I've already done the "switch".0

I don't think the link on this website includes EBICO in their comparison. May be I'm not ticking the right boxes for the comparison search. They are certainly the cheapest at the moment for light/medium users.0

pinkpauline34 wrote:I pay by monthly DD for Gas & Electricity through Scottish Power. My DD was fixed at £65 pm - they have written to me today to say from 22 June, my DD will increase to £96 pm! I can afford £65 but not £96 pm.
I have used a couple of switching websites and it appears that London Energy will be able to save me money - I've never heard of them and before I go ahead and switch, I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me if they've any experience with them? I moved from British Gas to Scottish Power last November and the switch itself was a complete nightmare which I'm not relishing going through again.
I know my gas usage is high as my Mother who lives with me is disabled and needs to be kept warm for medical reasons.
Any help would be much appreciated.
No consolation but mine went from £60 to £115
although to be fair i knew i was underpaying what i thought was a little.
Anyway my annual search found London Energy to be 17% lower so i switched.0 -

Should be no problems, none here with switch.0
