AUTOCOMPLETE on IE6 knows too much

Hi can anybody advise me I have Autocomplete on and like it but I have the password remembering turned off as most people do I suspect, however when I am whizzing away on the PC sometimes I tend to go too fast and before I actually have the screen up I want, I end up typing the username and password for instance and because the window is not up I end up filling some other box in another window I have up on screen. Although this box is the wrong box and does nothing, because I have done this and hit the enter key, my passwrd suddenly becomes a remembered word. So the next time I am filling in boxes and Autocomplete is offering me choices, up comes my password in the list.

Ok it may not be obvious straight away that it is my password to others but it is annoying and someone else might figure it out.

So my question is, is there a way to look at all the things Autocomplete remembers and selectively delete them? I know you can do the lot in one go but I don't really want to do them all even though I know it will learn again. It would be helpful for other reasons too, ie my kids have typed silly things in, in the past, and they too are annoyingly offered to me when Autocomplete is helping me out.

Any help appreciated.

Try scolling down the list of usernames offered to highlight the unintentional password record. Press the delete button.

Alternatively, use a cleaner such as ccleaner and select the clear autocomplete form history option.

But are they not stored somewhere that you can get to them individualy? I mean they must be stored to remember them.

usually if you start to type, a list box will drop downshowing you the possible entries yo could chosse - scroll down this list using the arrow keys and hit the delete key

thanks to thefirs and nbt, tried it and yes it works. Once you do this it does not appear again as an offer.

    Cheers
