I want to water my window baskets and tubs with my bath water, but I don't want to spend hours scooping out the water from my bath into my watering can.
Does anyone know of an OS way of syphoning the water out?

Assuming your bath is higher than your garden ........
Take a hosepipe that stretches from your bath to the garden. Attach the bath end to the tap, and fill the hosepipe with water, then stop off the garden end. Remove the hose from the tap and immediately put your thumb over the end. Put this into the bath water. Open the garden end, and the water will siphon

Use one of those diverter valves on the pipe on the outside of the house wall.....cant just find a link to them....used to be the in thing during the water shortage years ago0

No it won't harm it, and the soap will help the water penetrate any dry soil.0 -
A hozelock water butt pump can also be used, just drop it in the bath an attach a hose pipe to it.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

Thanks for all the information everyone. I finally settled on a syphon sourced from Ebay for £5. It's basically a hand pump with two hoses attached - one for the bath and one for the watering can.
Just tried it and pleased to say my garden is watered the OS way :j0
