Furniture damaged in transit, advice please

We bought a dining table, chairs and sideboard from a large department store, it was a display item, we checked it before buying and everything was ok at the time.
It was delivered this morning and the delivery man pointed to a chip on a sheet of glass which had happened in transit, so I sent this back to the shop, he said someone would be in touch about a replacement. I have since unwrapped the table and found that it has also been damaged !
I'd like some advice about what my rights are. Can I get a replacement for this, even though they were not bought as 'new' ? If they decide to repair the damage do I have to accept the repair ?
Thanks

I think you have to let them try & make good any damage, obviously if the repair is unsatisfactory I should think you could get more money off or return the goods & get a refund. As to having a new set, I think you'd be lucky, unless the shop is eager to maintain it's reputation or the discounted price given would still allow the shop to make a reasonable return on ordering new.0
