Lost then found debit card

Not sure if this is the right forum or not to post this but basically I thought I'd lost my debit card a couple of days ago. I rang the bank up to cancel it and order a new one and it should be here in a week or so, but I've just found the one I thought had been lost. This might be a stupid question but will it still work in an ATM? It's just otherwise I have to go into the branch to withdraw and it would save me a lot of time if I don't have to.

No, you can't use it. I have done this before - thought I had lost a card, cancelled it and found it. As you have put a stop on it, it should be eaten by the ATM! Inconvenient as it is, you will have to wait for your new card.0

No. It will be confiscated by an ATM, or decline in retail as it will be on the lost/stolen hotfile. You'll have to go to branch, and wait for your replacement card.0

There is also no way the staff can reverse the block if the card is found again. As others have said you will need to wait for a replacement0

Murphy's law.....as soon as you report a mislaid card as lost to the bank -the card faries put it where you can find it !I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Happened to me several years ago. I reported the card lost. Found the card about 10 minutes later, called back but it was confirmed blocked.
As I was in a hurry I put the blocked card in my wallet. Roughly 20 minutes later I filled up at a local garage and inn error - used the blocked card (It was the same colour as the card I inteded to use). Just after the payment went through, I relaised what I'd done.
I then thought I'd play devils advocate and used the card twice again in the next 24 hours. Once at Thorntons and then again at a Wine Shop. I went back to the garage where I first used it at and they did a code 10 check. It came back ok.
I contacted my card isssuer told them what had happened and I had would be settling these transactions and cancelling my card. They seemed totally uninterested. 27 Hours later, I went back to the Wine Shop (I knew the staff), the card was blocked. The Winde Shop retained the card and the assistant received £50 for doing so.
It would therefore seem that blocking a card doesnt necessarily kick in immediately. It only means that you are not held responsible for transactions which take place after the time you report the loss or theft.

Did the shop staff share the reward with you?
This could be quite a financially incentivised loophole.0 -

I never asked or suggested this to the shops staff. I did explain to them what had happened. They couldn't believe it.
The other side of the coin is that the police could be called and you'd have some explaining to do.0
