Help with lloyds tsb account

This is my first post so please bare with me. I am after so advice/help with paying off my Lloyds TSB overdraft. I have been trying to pay off my Lloyds TSB overdraft after switching banks account, I have been paying a standing order of £30 per month for 3 1/2 years which would leave approx £200 left to pay. However my current balance stands at over £1400 due to the number of charges that Lloyds keep applying to my account. After speaking to them they said that after 6 months I need to contact the bank and start a new 6 month contract to pay off my account. However, I receive no letters or phone call stating this. Therefore after the 6 month period Lloyds add charges for letting my account go over the agreed overdraft even though I am still paying my standing order and have never missed a month.. I have contacted Lloyds but they stated that the charges were justified and that they would not be removed. Can anyone please give me so advice/help as I don't know what to do next.

    Ask them what you agreed(the 6 month thing) and if they are still being unhelpful then I think you will have to do a FULL Subject Access Request for the notes on your account and perhaps take them to the FOS since they should hopefully be evidence from the SAR of a mistake on their part and you have proof that you haven't missed a payment.

  • Thanks for the quick reply. Could you please tell me what a Full Subject Access Request / FOS / SAR is?

    Excuse my ignorance.

    Ok, under the data protection act 1998 you can request for the fee of £10.00 that the bank send you all your details including notes on your account to you.
    I use way too much jargon on the forum so apologies. FOS=Financial Ombudsman
    SAR= Subject Access Reqeust.
