Guess how far a Mercedes-Benz E-Class will travel on a single litre of fuel, and you could win free fuel vouchers, courtesy of Shell. The winner will receive $500 of vouchers (over £300) and 5 runners up will receive $100. Amounts will be converted into sterling.

The E-Class our expert driver Derek Lea will be putting to the test is a 1 year old E220 model. This executive saloon was previously used as a courtesy car so comes with 21,384 miles on the clock. It has a 2.1 litre diesel engine and is capable of reaching 0-62 in 8.4 seconds.

To enter your estimate, move the yellow sliding bar to adjust the distance. Then press the minus or plus buttons to fine-tune the number by 0.01km.

Shell club members get an extra guess if they enter their membership no.

From the website they will do between 40.9m/g and 53.3m/g. I'll try and work out what this is l/km when I get a mo.
