Unwanted Gold

Hi, Don't know if this is the right place to put this, but it may help someone wanting to get rid of their unwanted gold.I was in Ellesmere Port arcade yesterday (Friday) and a Guardian Direct counter had been set up in the arcade. As we had some old gold to get rid of we asked him for a quote and after looking at it he said it was worth £110.Having no idea on the price of gold I decided to get a second quote from a stall in the indoor market. I was very surprised when the stallholder told me it was worth £176.What a massive difference.I accepted the money he offered. As Guardian Direct are a national company I thought I would get a good offer from them, obviously not. My advice is shop around, you may get a lot more for your unwanted old gold.

I sold my gold on the weekend in my local Gus Jones's. I didn't shop around but they were buying 9ct fully hallmarked yellow gold for £4.50 a gram and partially hallmarked £4.10 a gram. I only had a few items but had £79 pound overall so was quite pleased. I knew that I would probably get more money if I went to Cardiff or Newport but I couldn't get over there this weekend.

That's a good amount you had for your gold though Norman!
