    Was that a double fault?:D

Of the many Eastern European foreign nationals (legal or illegal) that I know they seem to fall into 2 camps regarding their vehicles:

    (1) Those that are absolutely fastidious about them and have the entire Halfords Ripspeed catalogue lavished on them. OK they may fail the taste test but you have to appreciate the effort put into the vehicles which started off as sheds.

    (2) Those that don't give a monkeys about them and have dangerous cars with colour photocopies of overseas tax documents and most probably cancelled insurance.

There seems to be no middle ground.

I will admit to once fixing my brakes - then finding when I put the tiny spring back I'd lost the washer needed before the split pin ... so I drilled out a 1p piece to fit.

My classic was when I lovingly rebuilt an old Matchless 350cc motorbike engine (the one with shiny chrome pushrod tubes on the outside). Prior to starting it up I had a quick look around and found 2 pushrods on the floor. I tore it apart again and put them in. That engine leaked oil for ever after..
