Just had to ring BT Broadband about a slight problem and got excellent service, polite and helpful staff, a very quick resolution to the problem and a massive reduction in my broadband costs. (yes, I know I was paying over the odds before!).
We've been with BT for years and years, through the bad ones and I can say with my hand on my heart that they have improved customer service by miles. Last year I had a protracted and fraught encounter with them (had to eventually email the CEO which was very effective) and was dreading any need to make contact but now really happy.

Conversely I'm having a big problem with BT at the moment. My internet speed is 1meg (distance from exchange). For the last 2 months it's dropped to 112k. And since 8th Sept it's jumped up to a more usable 440k. I've spent hours on the phone to India with no joy. I've bought new microfilters and a new router just in case these were the problems.
I've paid only part of my BT bill. As the speed is 1/10th of that originally I only paid £2 for the last 2 months internet service.A lot of the times I use my Vodafone BB dongle @ 2 meg.

Before you cut the wire do a test here http://www.speedtest.net/ and then check afterwards. If that's no good go to the Techie forum cos there's loads of folk who could offer help (mine is taken from there!)0
