Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th September - What small DFW things have you done this week

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning All,
I hope that no-one minds if I start the thread today – was up bright and early today as there is a lot to do
Hello to everyone who posts today. ***waves***** frantically at everyone
Today I have/will:
• [STRIKE]Checked online banking [/STRIKE]
• Have an LSD
• Enter comps online
• [STRIKE]Put a jumper on rather than putting the heating on[/STRIKE] - no need, the weather is really nice and warm
• I will make sure that I have me time today – possibly watch a film
• I will sit down and devise a meal plan combining Weight Watchers and Low GI
didn’t so this last weekend
• I will print out meal plan for mum for info (she needs help sometimes) –--- see above
• I will continue to drink water (filtered from a tap) rather than squash or coffee
• I need to take numbers off of my voicemail before they disappear forever….agencies touting for temps I think
• [STRIKE]Cooked chicken to take to BBQ tonight, need to buy coleslaw ingredients and jacket potatoes for lunch I think[/STRIKE]
• [STRIKE]So that I am super confident tonight, I am off to get my usual waxing treatment, but I consider it to be money well spent….although I will start treatment to slow down the hair growth in a couple of days[/STRIKE]
• [STRIKE]Enjoy a free coffee thanks to a starbucks card I received
[/STRIKE]
Off for a BBQ at in laws tonight as it is FIL’s 60th next week. It would be great to catch up with ‘family’ who I havn’t seen for ages…..esp SIL – I sent her a message on FB regarding money (or lack of) and was rather vocal of where how her boyfriend is an idiot with money, and she hasn’t replied – could be interesting
I am sure there will be other things, but for now, this is it – take care everyone

OH got up at about 4.30 this morning to go off out for the day, but I managed to get back to sleep and have only just got out of bed  so am sitting here with a cup of coffee and wondering whether to have another bit of toast!
Today I have / will:
See to animals and plants - just went out in my dressing gown to let out chooks

A bit of shopping, but only what is on the list
Make a pie and the cake that I STILL haven't made

- am going to make me a lovely veggie lasagne from ingredients I already have
- am going to check through my kitchen cupboards and see what is lurking. My flatmate is moving out today and will be leaving some of her food, not really my taste but will see if any can be used by me

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Hi everyone, I have been absent a while due to been unwell and in hospital yet again, I have been in and out of hospital for the last few weeks and am on the sick for at least another week. This is good for some aspects of my finances as I cant spend, but the downside is I sort all the financial stuff out and some bills etc havent been paid - not good.
I am planning a NSD or LSD anyway, so today I will
- phone and cancel a disused car insurance policy, expecting about £170 back
- send insurance certificate to new insurers
- sort out some money someone owes me, I have got a book to keep track of money owing etc
- check bank balances even though I know they are really bad
- later on, have a good tidy up and look for some credit card cheques so I can balance transfer to 0%
- ebay 3 items minimum tonight0
