connect your sound output to external sound system or amp

also try switching your type of sound output if you have one of them standard Realtek sound cards from speakers to headphones0

Sorry didnt explain myself fully. What happening is my sister is using one of my laptops for whatever , but she listens to music through her headphones and everything is cranked up to the max meaning Vista sound 100% and Youtube Sound 100% or any other music/video website, Not only is it bad for her (try telling a teenager that) it is very distracting for everyone else in the room. Espically when your trying to work, or watch a interesting program. All i wanted to know if there was a way that i could limit the sound to something more reasonable, where she can still hear it , and we can't.Peter: Hey Lois... what's this word? Lois: Evil. Right click the Sound icon on your System Tray ( Near the clock, the clock is in the system tray) from there you can set the volume for cd,wav, ext, mic,.... individually and then the master volume. HTH0
