Switching from Pre paid meter to normal
Hi All,
Some help and advice please....
just moved in to a repossessed property and found out that the electricity is a pre paid card meter, i have spoke to EON, who supply the electricity and they say i cannot have the pre pay meter removed until i'm a customer for 12 months! and even then it will cost me to get it removed.
Please can someone tell me what company i can switch to who wont charge me for replacing the pre pay electricity meter? Living in the south wales area.
i've thought about switching with energy helpline but i'm guessing they wont automatically replace the meter with a normal one.....?
Thanks in advance
Chris

This has been covered several times and there doesn't seem to be a hard and fast ruling with any of the companies.
If you have a good track record with your previous supplier they might help?
Some companies will change meters if you give them a refundable deposit.0 -
Last I heard Southern Electric were replacing prepay meters free of charge, that was a while back though, might be worth a phone call...Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
