PhoneCheap has just raised its calls to mobiles from 2p/min to 3p/min. Those of you who are accessing this service through your Orchid dialler will need to reset it to this No: 08444390003.....others will need to dial that No instead!
If you want to set your router via BT - ie 128008444390003# it's not yet available on the drop down list.

I cant be bothered with these never ending 0844 changes of rates, numbers and suppliers.
I think i will stick with https://www.18185.co.uk for the moment at least.
4p connection. 5p a min Peak/ Evenings. 2p weekends.
At least i wont get charged if the mobile is switched off/ out of range, unlike 0844 access.PF.0 -

I tend to agree with you although I'm going to give it one more go (using PhoneCheap, dialler and 1280 access). I have just phoned Orchid and they will add the new 3p/min No shortly....0 -
Is it possible to phone mobile to mobile using that number? and if so is the charge what the mobile network charge, which in my case is Virgin who told me yestreday that calls to 0844 are at 15p per minute.
Thanks
Why is it that the number I have, from phone cheap site is 0844 4620002Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Now they've increased their price, they've had to change the 0844 number to one which is g10 rate to match the 3p/minute they now wish to charge. 0844439xxxx numbers are g10 rate.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Any answer to the mobile question?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Right back to 18185 for me!! Changed dialler to 128008444390003#. First 3 calls to mobiles all went wrong (but still cost min BT charge of 5.5p!)....enough faffing about... back to a more reliable service!0

BTW, you couldn't amend your post to include a link to wherever on the ICTIS site you found the prices could you (I find the BT version a real pain).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Anyway, for the sake of 15p, I'll try it (I've got 2 Virgins in my hands right now).:D
Update 16:50 - OK, it works (dialling 08444390003 and then the other mobile's number). Obviously, Virgin will charge even though I didn't answer my own call but I let it ring for just under a minute so we'll see (call charges should show online in 30 minutes or so).
Update 17:42
10/5/06 / 16:44:29 / 08444390003 / 00:00:42 / Uk National Toll Rate / 0.11Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
