Barclays charges due to hacked account

Hi, hope someone can help!!
Just returned from my holiday to find a letter from Barclays detailing 5 unauthorised PayPal transactions. It would appear that somebody has hacked my Hotmail account and accessed my PayPal account. Due to there being insufficient funds in the account Barclays have charged me £8 per transaction i.e. £40. I've spoken to them today regarding this and they were most unhelpful and say that PayPal are liable. Is that right? I can't see Paypal refunding me the £40 although they've yet to respond to the incident at all. Hopefully PayPal will sort out the unauthorised payments but should the buck stop with Barclays with regard to the £40?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Barclays should realise that if they charges you £40.00(no personal reserve I take it??) then they are still gonna pay it back. However, this is the interesting part, their new charges are OUTSIDE the FSA Waiver on Bank Charges but INSIDE the OFT test case issues remit. It is the hokey cokey unfortunately with them,0 -
Still in limbo over this as nobody is accepting liability. Does anybody know where I stand? Please help!!!0

Reclaim the bank charges from Barclays.
It isn't their fault the account got hacked nor is it Ebays fault if they have taken reasonable steps once you informed them. If your computer was hacked then Ebay believed that it was you and since you are registered with Ebay they would have asked for the payment which was rejected.0
