When I bought this new machine, I started a regime of fully deleting unwanted programmes by:
1.....removing the programme in Add/Remove
2.....going to search and deleting any files there, bearing in mind other names under which they may be filed.
3.....using ccleaner
....................am I doing it right, is there anything else I should be doing.??

yeah thats pretty much it to remove software, although if you want to 'fully' remove it, you might want to try a registry scanning software as after some installs there's still some reg entries left usually.
add/remove is usually suffice though unless your doing a clean out.
(warning; removing things from the registry is at your own risk, you need to make sure its not important, most programs now come with the option to create a restore point).0 -
Ccleaner can clean the reg!
Click on issues, scan for issues, fix selected issues. I do this 3-4 times until ALL the unwanted reg entries are removed.
It will ask you to backup the reg before it makes any changes.....Make the backup, save it somewhere safe, reboot, make sure everything works still.0 -
Thank you kindly, also use RegCleaner which I got off a disc, and gives me a look at the startup progs, and any added software .0
