I have been asked to take some photography for a major uk firm for promotional purposes:j:eek:...They have asked for full reproduction rights.
This is a whole new ball game for me and I have no idea what to charge, what to watch out for (i don't want to be taken for a mug) :oand could really do with some general advice.
Obviously I am limited as to the information I can give out but I need help on whether I should build in royalties or not, how much should I charge etc etc.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Phone up a competitor posing as a clint and see what they say?

If you're a member of any organisations like AOP or BJP I'd ask them or go on a forum like that. I'm a photographer but I don't do that type of work. I'd be looking at how many days, what it was going to be used for, is it for a national or international promotion, do you keep the copyright, do you have to hire anything/have any special insurances, hire models or assistants etc. Commercial tends to be £300 -600 a day I think, depending on whether you're london based or not, but if it's e.g.Coca-Cola then obviously a much bigger budget. Hope this helps

I worked for a photographer, we had this discussion once and the answer seemed to be not to let go of the copyright if you can help it ... and if they want it then charge the earth.0
