Problem is most people do the same thing hence the rise and falls. I figure a fall in commodity and emerging markets could happen again if its realised 'it aint over yet' but I plan to move into them more if thats the case
With the absolute funds Im not sure I see the point unless you need that money soon, just have more faith in what you invest and realise a price tag doesnt represent value
Invesco perp high income outperforms the ftse by a considerable amount.
As per this chart it is about 20 percent.
I can trade in and out of funds with my HL account without any spread.
Many investors see a change but are reluctant to act on it as they are unwilling to accept that there decision was wrong or accept a loss.
I try and look 6 months ahead in the economy and it doesnt look good.
Higher UK taxes possibly a double dip recession but many investors only see the upward curve and I try and keep that in mind but I have got to have an alternative and that might be absolute funds where the returns might not be sky high but at least it should be positive rather than accept a market fall.
I think now is the time to be prudent and safeguard gains if you are thinking long term.AFter the dip I will look again at reinvesting heavily into mid cap UK funds.t this point Im leaning towards bonds and safe UK funds
Has anyone any thoughts on good absolute funds then or an opinion on the ones I mentioned in my last post ?

H&L are really singing this funds praises to say the least. This always makes me suspicious - but maybe I'm just an old cynic. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0
