Hi
Has anybody used any of the online assistance companies to fight the CSA or can recommend a solicitor on the south coast that could help in a similair monner.

Regards

Why dont you try stating your problem on MSE and see what the good folks come up with first.
  • A lot of people recommend the National Association For Child Support Action (NACSA) who can be found here http://www.nacsa.co.uk/

There are 2 solicitors that spring to mind, and a bit of a dodgy company claiming to specialise in CSA Law - who gave us duff advice I might add - as previously said, NACSA are probably best choice, as even when we hired high profile CSA Solicitor, he just didn't seem to be committting to such an important task - me think even he is probably worn down by the CSA.

There is a specialist in Bristol that my solisitor recomended, but getting through to him is a 'black art'. They tell me he is the top of his game! As to his name, would have to look it up.

    Specialist help........

I have heard of NACSA, google them. I believe that for general information they are very good. It’s cheap to join as well!
When you join they can be a mine of information.
However, when you ring them you have to leave a message and then they call you back. They tend not to answer the phone when you ring them.

Others on here mention a solicitor called Stephen Lawson who is supposed to be very good when it comes to all matters CSA. I have no personal knowledge of him at all.Don't know what he charges but I have read on these forums that he will give you an estimate of his charges at the beginning.
    Probably not cheap

There is another firm called Durham Legal Services and I have only heard mixed reviews about them. I have no personal knowledge of them at all.
No idea about their charges, probably not cheap

There is another firm called Child Support Solutions who are in
    Birmingham.
They specialise in all matters CSA related and charge a monthly fee.

In some cases they take over all contact with the CSA and basically fight your corner for you.
I do have personal knowledge of this company. I am not affiliated to this company.
Not cheap, but very effective in my case!

The above are the main people/companies/solicitors who specialise in dealing with the CSA. Google them all and see what you think

I appreciate that you have asked pd001 about costs etc, I wonder if this link was of any help to you.

My advice would be for you to give them a ring and have a chat with them. Tell them that they have been mentioned on a couple of different chat forums. Name the forums if you wish.
The fee that I was charged may not be the fee that everyone is charged. Indeed, your case my not need the detailed effort that my case needed.
However I can, once again, confirm that they were very effective in my case.
  • I went to CSS and ended up in the middle of a internal war. Two member of there staff left the company leaving me high and dry and out of pocket I went to my MP and with his help at that of the Royal British Legion they arranged for Durham Legal Services to represent As a ex Service Woman they did the appeal for free ( part some agreement between RBL and them) Ironically at my appeal CCS were representing my ex. I might add I was more than happy with the outcome.

Durham Legal Services were appaulling for us, I have formally complained to them.

They in a dark time, gave us incorrect advice, when we approached Stephen Lawson, he told us had we approached him first then the LO would not have been awarded, we could have also protected our joint home.

On a telephone interview from DLS wew were met with a guy who was giggling in the telephone, totally unprofessional in such a sensitive situation, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, get yourself a decent specialist solicitor, PM me if you need a couple of names, they may cost you a few quid more but in the long run, you need advice and representation you can trust, or it WILL cost you in CSA payments
