Hi,
I somehow managed to infect my laptop with two worms. System restore won't work because it was infected before i saved a restore point. I want to use my system recovery disk but since i have installed SP2 it will not let me the message i keep getting is - the version of XP you are trying to install is older than your current version, install will not continue.
I tried using system restore to go back to a period before i installed SP2 but it still won't let me use my recovery disk to install a fresh XP.
does anybody have any suggestions?
cheers

Why are you doing a system restore/uninstallation to get rid of the worms? Have a look here and see whether this would help:

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
In there, click on the Service Pack 2 and Remove.
Once that is done, you can then use the Recovery Disk.
Hope that helps.0
