Virgin Media on demand services

I have had intermittent loss of tv on demand over the last week. I live in Fife, Scotland. Sometimes it is available but often it is not. Tried the usual rebooting to no avail. Tried to phone Virgin but such long waits that I have given up. Anyone one else had this problem and how do you solve it?

  • Thanks for that link. However it does not explain why I get access to TV on demand some times during the day and sometimes not - for about a week,

we are in edinburgh and had the same problem, totally conked out a few nights ago and only had access to normal channels, no on demand or recordings, couldnt even get the tv guide up. After getting Virgin out he immediately replaced our box. Maybe it's worth hanging on the phone?

This happens to my virgin box. Unplugging it and rebooting usually cures the problem.

I'm in Dundee & had the same problem intermittently over the past 3 years, unplugging/rebooting didn't help
eventually I lost patience with it & called tech support, the engineer came out & replaced my box & I've had no problems since

persevere with calling the support line, they'll sort it out for you
  • I get it an awful lot in Leeds, probably around 60% of the time i try it, usually fairly late at night. Mine works eventually if you keep trying, but it usually takes about 5 or 6 attempts in quick succession, even though it has said 'on demand is not currently available'.
