Have you got a Wilkinsons store anywhere near you? My local store has a clear out about this time of year and you can pick up all sorts of things for about 10p a packet. I stock up every autumn and haven't bought a full-price packet of seeds for a couple of years now!

are you allowed to to do that?

As I know you are not suppose to bring them back in to the country.

It actually depends on the county.

Some countries there is no problem i.e. country in the EEA area have no problems with seeds from another EEA country. Each country has it's own rules.

Plants and cuttings generally no unless you have a license.

  • Anyone know if I can take seeds on the plane to Mauritius? I really want to take tomato plant seeds, and a few flowers as my friend lives there and she can't get them easily there.

As far as I know theres no problem taking or sending plant seed anywhere within the EU otherwise there are probably restricted take a look on DEFRA's web site.

As for cheap seeds discount stores like B & M or Lidl, Aldi would be worth checking.
