Would like to change Date of Rent Payment - unusual request?

Hi,
we are currently paying our monthly rent on the 23rd of each month, as our contract started on the 23rd. As we are both working and get paid at different times of the month (15th and 25th) it never bothered us.
But soon my wife will be going on Maternity leave, and from then she will be paid at the 30th of each month.
So I was thinking about asking our LL (with whom we are having a good relationship) if we could pay our rent on the first of each month from now on. I intend to pay this 23rd the full months rent plus the additional 8 days to bring us to the 1st of November, and to from then on pay on the 1st of each month.
Would that be an unusual request? Would it have any legal implications on notices or anything?

As a LL - i see no problem with this, but, do get a written signed acceptance of this new arrangement from your LL so that you can include it with your tenancy agreement as an Addendum0
