Sorry if this is wrong board.......

If one orders from La Redoute, then sends the whole order back, and they confirm reciept of the whole order back.........do you still have to pay the postage charge of 3.45 ?

How long do you have to pay it?
is there a charge for late payment?

They have in the mean time sent a statement detailing the items posted and a balance for payment, now that all items are returned the only thing left will be the postage 3.45 will they send a new statement or will payment (the 3.45) be due whatever has occured in the meantime?

Thanks

When i've done this in the past they've still charged me the p&p if you wanted to exchange anything tho you do get 40% off your whole order, not just the exchanged items, if that makes sense :o i guess charging the p&p regardless of whether you return 1 or all items is their way of clawing some of the discount applied on exchange orders. I beleive there is no p&p on exchanged orders tho, however i cna't swear to it it's been a while since i ordered from them.

If your just returning items and don't wish to exchange for anything else, there's nothing stopping you from asking for a refund of your p&p, nothing ventured, nothing gained ;):D

I am not sure if i understood this correctly. Do you mean you get a 40 % discount on any exchange orders? I have exchanged many times with them but had never ever had a 40% discount.

I am sure though that for returns they will still charge you for P & P. But like you said, always worth a try to ask.

    I also don't understand what you meant by 40% off/exchanged items/whole order.

Sorry for the terrible explaination :o you've explained it far better than me, what you've said is what i was trying to say (badly lol)

they should apply the discount automatically if you tell them when your ordering that it's an exchange order, if not ask for the discount to be applied when ordering by phone. If you usually order online give them a call and ask for the discount code for exchange orders. There used to be quite a few floating around on the net but they clamped down on them because of misuse.

    HTH :)

sorry again, it was late (thats my excuse anyroad :p:D )

if for instance you order a shirt and it's not the right size and you wanted to order a different size or style you would get the 40% discount on that, although there is no limit on anything extra you order at the same time and the 40% discount will be applied to the full order. I hope i'm making some kind of sense, i'm starting to confuse myself too now :o:D

You explained well but me and my friends had never ever had a 40 % discount on exchange items. Perhaps will try it next time.
Had anyone else tried asking for a discount code while ordering by phone with them?I thought you need to have a discount code posted or emailed to you.

I don't know the reasons for your return, however i have had my p&p refunded when i returned all of the items ordered.

I sent customer services an email as i'd ordered a bikini and only the top half was sent the other half was out of stock. I just stated that had i known that only half of my order would be forfilled i would not have placed the order. I got an email back stating that as long as it was all returned they'd refund my p&p charge.

    hope this helps

Don't know about the p & p but they are connected to the same company that runs Empire Stores and they DO charge a late payment fee of £15.00 !!! I was one day over the due date of my invoice and I got billed. Pleaded and pleaded and to my shame cried down the phone at them and got it refunded due to my cirmcumstances at the time (illness). Was warned DON'T DO IT AGAIN OR ELSE!

    Thanks for your replies.

I just phoned them today, after a couple of emails about an item that had been returned but was not showing as having been returned.......I wanted to wait until all items were showing as 'returned" before Iphoned them about the postage.

First time phoning them on the 0870 number I had a hell of a time with their voice activated telephone menus !!! I just pressed 0 hoping it would take me out of the menu nightmare and straight to an opererative..and it did sort of, but no one answered so I gave up after 4 minutes!!

Second time I had the sense to look for an alternative number and found 0500 777 777 freephone :j so I eventually got through the menu nightmare to speak to someone, who said:

Sorry I can't refund that, it is in the t&c at the back of the catalogue. the returns postage is free....etc etc etc.

I said I'm not happy paying it because the goods were rubbish, and you sent me napkins for a tablecloth which I would never get because it is "no longer available". I said ok so if you can't authorise this then please put me through to some one who can.

She gave me the same spiel again.

I said, I know the return postage is free, I don't want to have to pay the initial postage, I don't want to shout at you, but if you can't authorise this then I need to speak to someone who can.

She then said, "ok I will refund the postage charge aswell".

I took her name said thank you and goodbye.

I should have asked why she had lied to me initially. !!!

The reason I was wondering about late payment fees, is because, they sent me a complete statement in the post, demanding payment of 40 quid or so, (there is another issue here that the 25 pound voucher should have been deducted from the first order aswell....as previously agreed over the phone when I submitted my order, but it wasn't it was sent to me to use on my next order!!! - another 50 quid, I DON'T THINK SO!) I was thinking that that the demand for payment was incorrect (i.e. the amount requested was incorrect) as I had returned all the goods, and was thinking they should send me a 'revised' bill, but they never did.

Anyway it's all sorted now, hopefully! I think this company is a shambles and I'm not sure I'll use that 25 pound voucher at all based on my experience so far.

    cheers all.
