Gift for OH on your wedding day.

Can i pinch a few ideas of you ladies/gentlemen for what you have bought or intend to buy your spouses on your wedding day.

I do not want to go down the watches/cufflinks line as to be honest they are pretty naff as he doesnt wear shirts to use cufflinks and watches he gets every xmas and birthday from family members.

I did see a message in a bottle on buyagift but am stumped as to what to put on the message which will have a long lasting meaning and extends beyond i love you now and forever.

How about getting a tree planted in a wood for him. Or a nice one for your garden. You could do a nice poem about how your love for him grows as the tree does or something.

Nothing! We spent enough on the wedding! He married me, what else does he need! Lol!!!

Good idea about the tree. You can name a star for him?

You could make a CD of all your/his faveourite songs?

Buy a digital photoframe and load up all the best pictures of you both or photos that mean alot.
  • I agree with Nat :)

he's got you on the day and for the rest of his life - what could match up to that?

Any gift has to be insignificant next to that, so if you must get him something.... I vote socks - they always need socks :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My ExH got me a necklace - which he wanted me to wear for the ceremony which ruined my co-ordinated jewlery :) I never got him anything. Is it custom for brides and grooms to do presents for each other? I never even thought about it when I got wed the first time :)

He has all the cd's of the bands he goes to and has asked as an advance on his xmas present so he can buy t-shirts at his next concert so i cant even do that.

We already have named stars with their locations.

The tree is a good idea however we are waiting for back garden to be ripped up and made disablility friendly as OH is disabled and has mobility problems.

Kids buy him socks out of their pocket money as they always connect the Mr Men ones with his moods lol.

Paulie i think it is something that was done traditionally and all though hardly anything in our day is traditional and as already pointed out he is stuck with me forever thought a token gift would be nice.

Digital photo frame i can see us receiving as a gift as his nan is into that sort of thing she is obsessed with phot albums lol.

OH did this a few weeks ago at Donnington, his family had clubbed together to buy it for his 30th birthday present. If you want to save money on it you can find out what days the local track are using and just turn up and book and save a good whack on it. I insisted OH bought the in car dvd so he can keep reliving the memory and we treated the kids to do a 6mile high speed drive in a lotus, daughter flew past doing 120mph!

Try this link as they advertise last minute specials cheaper than you would get through buyagift or last minute etc.

  • I'm being quite cheap I'm afraid, and simply getting a new watch strap for the watch I got him for Christmas which has been sat in a drawer since the strap broke because he would never get round to it. But at least it means he will be able to wear it again.

How about a bottle of champagne, as long as he has plenty of people, best man, ushers etc to help him drink it so he doesn't turn up bladdered!

Drink is out the question with him being disabled and on medication which dont allow it.

Have just found the lyrics to his fav Metallica track nothing else matters and typed the key lines onto the scroll on the message in a bottle, having to keep switching pages as he keeps asking what im up to lol.
