Domestic and Gen extended guarentee

I have purchased a extended warranty plan for a Hotpoint fridge freezer for a year on a 3 year year old appliance for £159 parts and labour via direct debit, long story no local repairers would touch Hotpoint as the parts are expensive and recommed that I take up the extended guarentee
So far I have had six visits to try and repair the problem with a 2 week approx wait between visits.
Visit 1 engineer visited said it was a compressor required and ordered part.
Visit 2 engineer turned up said it may not need the compressor regassed the unit worked for approx 3 weeksbefore freezer went and the fridge.
Reported the fault agin said its the same as the original problem I was told they needed to send engineer to asess problem next available engineer would be 1 week time.
Visit 3 engineer attended site changed circuit board and said a new compressor was required and ordered part.
Visit 4 one week later engineer fitted compressor and said would take approx 24 hours to cool fridge and freezer.
Noted odour and gas and unit still warm after approx 12 hours, various calls to hotpoint managed to get engineer to attend same day as call.
Visit 5 engineer attended site said there was a leak on compressor that he couldnt repair and he would order a new part.
Rang Hotpoint to try and get some one to attand asap the next date would be a week later due to ordering part (fuming by now)
Visit 6 same engineer as for visit 4 tried to fob me off with him clearing blockages and replacing compressor saying it would be approx 12 hours before it would get cold.I challenged him re this to on which he phoned his office and said there a blockages in the pipework and was unable to complete the repair.
Im not sure if he replaced the compressor as I didnt stand over watching him but what !!!!ed me off that he knew it wasnt working but tried to leave saying it would take time to get cold.

Now they are ordering a replacement which I will have to contribute and have delivery charges added and a delivery time of 2- 3weeks. total sum of £210 cannot get the same equivalent model.

In total I have been without a fride for approx 6 weeks fuming I cancelled the direct debit and sending in complaints to Dom Gen to which I get no reply or no one calls me back and gets expensive hanging on for approx 30min s on call to the call centre .
Anyone know where I stand re cancelling the direct debit there have been 2 payments so far, to get some sort of reply from them.
I am thinking of just ordering one on my own.
