Motor Industry Codes
I have another thread running about issues i had with my Seat Leon TDI Sport and after 3.5 years managed to get a good sum of money back as i was about to take legal action. (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=25213347)
However as part of legal action against a car manufacturer, courts ask to see if you have cocnsulted the Motor Industry Codes. http://www.motorindustrycodes.co.uk/
I did just this and they said that the manufacturer has broken no code at all.
So as long as a manufacturer keeps trying to fix your car (even after the fault is replicated 15 times), never manages to fix it, leaves you with a very dangerous issue means that they are doing a good job.
I am trying to find out how many people have contacted the Motor Industry Code and got nowhere with them. Have you had had a situation where the Motor Industry Codes came back to you and said that you were right and that some action would be taken as the code was broken?
I have passed this matter to the OFT as they look allow the Motor Industry Codes to run the scheme and the OFT monitor's it. I have asked the OFT to keep looking at thit thread for evidence.
So whatever you can provide would be usefull for the OFT.
