I have only had them a week and already I cannot type out the words properly. I have to press really hard to get the e typed for example. Sometimes the internet pages take ages to load and the Mouse sticks. Surely the batteries will not be running out already

It could easily be the batteries. Some devices are supplied with what are basically low capacity test batteries that just demonstrate that the device works. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Do you really need wireless? unless you plan to use them from across a room sticking with a wired keyboard+mouse is by far the best option
(no hassle with connection/config, makes more MSE sense as you're not shelling out on battries every couple of months and better for the environment for the same reason)0 -
I got Wireless because I was fed up with having to keep pulling the Mouse wire forward to use it all the time.0

Have you got any more info? I use fairly cheap trust wireless kits and often find that if the usb dongle is plugged into the back of the PC and there are other USB devices attached the range is SERIOUSLY less. Try using the front USB port?
Keeps happening at the moment, although its less keys getting stuck than letter just missing, and then complete lack of response. I'm too lazy to connect up my motherboard to the front USB ports though, as they are in a very awkward place.0 -
I don't agree with your assertion that wired is "by far" the best option.Do you really need wireless? unless you plan to use them from across a room sticking with a wired keyboard+mouse is by far the best option

Evidently the wires get in the way, so not having them there is more convenient.
An on the matter of batteries, I use rechargeables.0
