SRM or anyone else who has an alliance and leicester account. Can you tell me how much is actually in the bank? I haven't got a bleeding clue. I get balance and available balance which usually means if you deduct the overdraft limit from the available that's what you have. But with A&L you get 3 figures none of which tally with each other. Nothing has been spent on this account in the past few weeks.

    Help?
    Running balance

    £2363.46

    Balance

    £2,893.46
    Overdraft limit £250.00

    Available balance £3,142.28

    Toto...sounds like either:

    a. there's items in transit (like not cleared), or

    b. they're talking through their @sses ;)

There shouldn't be anything going in or out of there. It isn't either of our main accounts. I think it is telling me that there is £528.82 going in from somewhere

Toto, have you paid a cheque in for £530?

If so, I would guess that £2363.46 is your cleared balance, £2893.46 is the balance including the cheque (but it's not cleared funds yet), and the last one is how much you could actually draw out today, but includes the uncleared cheque and your overdraft limit.

    Never used A&L though...:o

Just realised the last one doesn't add up lol - so ignore that last bit.

The only other thing I can think of is that £2893.46 was your close of business balance for yesterday, and the running balance includes items that have debited today?

Hi Toto - I have just looked at my A&L account to work it out and I agree, it seems to be saying you have £528.82 going in. It is confusing though!

Have you made a small switch payment for £1.18?

I reckon there's an uncleared cheque for £530 going in, and a pending switch/maestro due to debit for £1.18

Or maybe more likely - if the first figure is the close of business balance, and the other includes todays transactions, it could be a bacs transfer in of £530, and a pending switch for £1.18...as both are included in your available balance.
