HDMI interconnects

Just about to get my new hd ready tv. Apart from the price, is there any point in spending £50 for a cable to connect to the HD cable box or am I just as well going for a £5 one off ebay??

I'm not lucky enough to be in a position to use HDMI yet but I'm confident that within reason you'll get what you pay for. I use £50 scarts on my digibox/tv and £100+ component cables on my projector and the difference between them and cheapie/freebie cables is huge.
