Does it matter what version of the ISIC card you have for a 16-25 railcard when you're a mature student?

You can apply for an NUS card and upgrade to an ISIC and NUS combined card for an extra £1
Or both cards separately would cost £18.

Does anyone know if it matter which version of the ISIC you have?

EDIT too: I have emailed the "contact us" on the 16-25 website asking - so will post the answer when this comes back.

  • both me and my partner are over 25 and have normal ISIC cards which got us 16-25 RCs in July.

    not sure about the NUS one.

    let me know.

    for those who dont know ISIC cards are also for people doing 60 credits through the OU per year, so I am not scamming, but entitled to it.

    Can't you get your university to endorse the railcard form, so that you don't need to buy the ISIC?
  • We are travelling abroad over the summer period so could do with one either way.

    I have just got my NUS EXTRA card and upgraded for ISIC. I thought I could use it for discount on Eurostar but it does not look like it. The prices quoted on Eurostar for adults and Youth rail card holders are the same!! But there are some wicked discounts abroad for entry to museums, national travel discounts and hotel discounts... can't wait ... maybe we should run a poll of who saves the most.

  • Well I didn't get a reply to my email I sent and it was yonks ago.

    However it doesn't matter which ISIC card you use to purchase the railcard.

    Yes we'll hammer the abroad discounts in summer!

    Did you look here at eurostar?
