Council won't bill me

Hi all,

I moved out of rented accomodation back in January to go back with my parents. Since then I have been trying to get my council tax paid at the old place so they don't spring it on me later on when I least expect it.

I've called them twice now asking for the final invoice and I supplied them with my contact address. They still haven't sent it to me and I don't know what to do ...

Put the money in a high interest savings account, better still if you haven't used your allowance an ISA, wait for them to contact you. When they do you'll have the money plus any interest earned.
That's the moneysaving way I would have thought?

I would put it in writing, get a proof of posting certificate (free at PO) then wait to hear from them. If there is any problem in the future you have a copy of the letter & the cert to prove it was posted to them.
In the meantime as the previous reply suggested keep the money somewhere safe. If you don't have the cash to do that & have difficulty getting hold of it when they eventually bill you, it is possible to make an arrangement to pay a set amount each month until the debt is cleared.
