Interference on Virgin Media Cable TV - Whats going on???

I have this weird problem with my Virgin Media TV. I occasionally get interference that makes the picture block up and causes pops and bangs on the sound.
The strange thing is the problem in intermittent - most of the time everything is ok but it seems to appear at the weekend - especially on a Sunday night. The problem can be on any channel.
If I record the program the interference is recorded and plays back - this suggests the connection between the V+ box and TV is ok. I have checked all the connections to the V+ box and everything is in securely. I have also attached my computer to the TV using the same HDMI cable without problem so I think the TV and cable are OK.
I have phoned virgin who have checked for faults remotely but didn't find any problems - they wont help any further at this point.
Has any one else had this happen? What could be causing the problem?

Hi,
I have the same problem - Virgin aren't coming out for a number of days due to Xmas/Weather etc!
It is really annoying...Did your problem get resolved, or has anyone else suffered from this type of problem?
Thanks0 -
Teenagers kicking the crap out of the junction box down the road didn't help me0
