Acquired new computer; help please?

Hello carrie ... this sounds a bit extreme ... to replace a whole computer because it became infected.

What's happening to the "old" computer? If you fancy using it again you have two options, I think ... either wipe the hard drive and start again reinstalling programs and data OR load up a free decent firewall (such as ZoneAlarm), get it online to some malware removal scanners etc. and post a HJT log here for us to try and fix for you.

Seems a shame to ditch an entire computer if can be fixed.:sad:

That isn't such a great idea, as you will probably know Belarc's resulting profile will also list all her license numbers for all her software. So what you're proposing is for her to publish these numbers to the whole forum?

No, She can delete them.
Copy, Paste...Delete the License numbers etc and Submit!
