baby shop stock-HELP!

Hi everyone,
I am about to take the plunge and open a nursery shop!I have only one problem-i dont know how to go about getting stock.I have emailed a few of the well known companys and they havent replied so im guessing ive gone about it the wrong way.
Do any of you know anything about the baby industry that would help me out-im in northern ireland so im really limited to wholesalers aswell so im sure ill have to either order and get things delivered specially or....i dont know!
I would really love this to work, ive had 3 lovely children and now i want the final baby-the shop :-)
many many thanks in advance for your time.
Laura.
it takes more energy

Sorry, but would have thought that your business plan would have had 'arranging wholesalers' at the very top of the list?

Many leading companies deal only with certain outlets and you would need to have a business plan to show that your area was poorly served by any of these other stockists to interest the big boys assuming you are actually opening a physical retail shop as opposed to a web business.

The ebay forum is full of questions about 'where can I get my stock' and that sometimes seems a difficult question to answer with so many people wanting the same things.

If you have a bank business advisor or if your accountant does advice as well then talk to them about how to sell yourself enough to interest the large manufacturers, ideally you want stock on a sale or return basis if you are going into retail. If not you are going to be stuck with chasing down bulk wholesalers where there is often very little profit to be made.
