I would like to reclaim our bank charges from HSBC- we have about £1000 - but I am really concerned about the possibility that they may close our account. We really could not afford to close our account as we live in our overdraft.
We also have an acc with Alliance & Leicester and when we went overdrawn on our overdraft I telephoned and explained that by charging us they were causing us more problems, ect. They repaid £25 but said that any problems after that and we should go to the credit department but in doing so they may close our account as it is not being properly managed.
Is this just scare tactics or is there a chance they could do this?

I have put in my claim to HSBC for a little under £700. I was overdrawn by £150, due to a mistake made by the tax office. I offerd to pay them back £3 a week as that is all I could afford. They dissmissed this offer, closed my account down and passed on the £150 debt to debt collectors. My offer of £3 a wek was accepted by the debt collectors but I'm still waiting to hear about the money HSBC owe me.
Now I don't hear a thing from HSBC concerning my claim, I have no bank account and no way of contacting HSBC.
I wouldn't change my possition if it ment that the banks could charge what they liked.0 -

Why do you have no way of contacting them?0
