Help! I'm a newbie when it comes to the stock market.

I purchased some shares in Elan Corporation on the London Stock exchange (ELA.L). The company delisted, but continues to trade on the Irish and NYSE stock markets.

I assumed that my share value would automatically be transferred onto the Irish stock exchange. It delisted from the LSE, have I lost all my money?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

This gives a contact number for someone called the listings application team at the FSA. I have no idea if they are able to answer your specific enquiry but might it be worth a shot. There is an email address here also.

Here is the link to Elan - go to Investor Services and give them a call. Your shares should be the same as the Dublin listed ones, not the ADR'S on the NYSE. You haven't lost anything.
