reward for helping catch a fraudster?

I recently had an auction on ebay that didnt sell but I was contacted by someone who wish to purchase what I was selling but was going to use his collegues account - so I gave my bank details so the guy could do a CHAPS transfer.
The cash amount sent was in the tens of 1000s and he assured me it was transferred but when I went to a cash point it swallowed my card, I rang my bank and they said a block had been put on my account and I had to ring a differnet number - this number turned out to be the banks fraud department so I gave them my side of what happened and it turns out that the person buying my items had stolen someones cheque book!!!
My bank revealed the name which was used and its not his name obviously - so I asked my bank if I should report him to the police and maybe I could help catching him and my bank agreed.
The guy rang me after this to confirm if the amount had been made available to me and I lied and said I was at work and could use phonebanking to confirm to transaction, but I said to him i'd need the name of his collegue to which he replied with a different name to the cheque!
Today he rang me but I didnt answer as I was busy so I text him confirming everything was in order and i'd need a delivery address - and he text me back straight away with the address - so I text him back asking for a name I could put on the delivery - and he text back with his company name, the comapny name had 'limited' on the end so I googled his delivery location and company name and found only the address which incidently is a block of flats lol.
Its now my duty to help bring this crook to justice and I wont hesitate contacting the police ASAP but I remember reading something in a newspaper ages ago that huge rewards were giving out to people helping with the capture of fraudsters.
Do any of you fine people know of such a thing?

We do not live in the Wild West. Doing the right thing shouldn't carry a price tag.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0

I can't see the police caring to much to be honest. Even if they do it's the banks responsibility to report it to them. Give the bank all the information you have and thank your stars you weren't conned out of an item worth so much0
