Whilst this is a fantastic offer, i believe it does require you to have a valid ac.uk email address!

No that was for another MS linked site, you just have to have some loose link to a school that is registered with them, even grandparents can apply.

Staff at schools can also apply, there is a box in the drop down menu of elegible categories when you register.

This offer has been around since July afaik. Sotware comes in a card envelope from N.I.
I had an email from them yesterday with more offers, however Windows 7 was not mentioned.

I see that teachers are eligible - what about retired teachers? After all we get a pension from them...

Once you receive your software, are there any more questions, eligibility criteria, hoops you have to jump through, or do you just install & you're off?
  • For Barter: Install and you're off (it was in my case, direct from Uni)

I can confirm, just install and it works, no registering or any other faffing about required.

Delivery was 1 to 2 weeks if I remember correctly.

I first ordered from here one to two years ago, so it has been going for a while, and have posted about it before in the tech forum.

They will not be doing windows 7 yet, but vista is available.

It has everything which is offered in the OP offer except Communicator 2007 (which i've never heard of personally?).

We use it at work, it's instant messaging, like MSN, but more capable but the features are more aimed at companies (integrated VIOP, calender and contact look ups to see if the person you want to talk to is online or in meetings ) not too much use if your at home unless you have a very big house and PC's everywhere :D. Not to mention you would need a serious network setup to the extent your running servers and have active directory setup and in use with everyone one logging on to there own PC's.

Not much use at home then for most of us...

Windows 7 (home premuim or Professional) can be pre-ordered for £38 ish (£30 plus I think it was 7.95 postage for the Office DVD) from the Ultimate Steal site. You need a .ac.uk account to register though.

I'm going to take advantage of this offer, as just started University and need Word!
However, do both of the websites only offer 2 licences per cd? Ideally I'd need it downloaded onto 3 laptops/computers as my brothers both need it too??
Any help much appreciated! xx

For those of us on Macs, Office for Mac was just over £37 delivered when I got it from them last year.
