Well after discovering this amazing site and followng martins advice:T I sent Lloyds a letter along with a cheque of £10 requesting a list of my bank charges which they then sent back to me 2 weeks later.
So all good so far,
Along with the list of charges they sent a letter saying "please be aware of our current policy on handling any complaints from customers concerning their unauthorised overdraft charges which we explain below"
"we beleive that our current account fees and charges are clear and represent a fair charge for a banking service that is valued by our customers." However Lloyds (along with other major UK banks) has now become involved in legal proceedings with the office of fair trading in relation to unauthorised overdraft charges. We belive these proceedings will resolve the legal issue regarding the fairness and legality of these charges."
it then goes ont o say what happens next is up to the courts etc etc and that i can complain if i want to.
Now do i follow up with the 2nd letter on the site requesting they pay the full amount or do i leave it now and wait for an outcome. if i do go ahead with the 2nd letter should i add that if this is not repaid that i will be seeking court action?
any guidance from this point will be much appreciated
thanks

Are they talking about bank charges or Credit card charges?
If it's credit card charges, you should send out the letter, recorded delivery. There is a template letter in Martin's step by step guide at the top of the page that you can use.0 -
This is for bank charges, for going over drawn etc.0

Sit and wait is the next thing since the claim has been stored and you are awaiting the outcome of the OFT test case issues.0 -
is it not even worth sending in the 2nd letter asking for the amount owed? at this point all they have sent me is a list of my charges not sure they are even aware i inteded to claim they may just think that i needed it for personal records?0

I am really sorry, I thought you meant by you had sent the first letter that you meant that you had sent the preliminary letter asking for the charges back. In that case, you need to send the next letter asking for the charges back......sorry about that...is it not even worth sending in the 2nd letter asking for the amount owed? at this point all they have sent me is a list of my charges not sure they are even aware i inteded to claim they may just think that i needed it for personal records?0 -
cool, just wanted to make sure i should follow it up with the 2nd letter actually asking for charges back. should send it recorded, from what i have read it is best to.0
