Swiftcover Recommendation

I just had some good service from Swiftcover. Twice!! It's not often doing business with an insurance company makes you happy. My expectation is always very low.
Anyway, first thing was they don't have phone lines, but they do have a chat on their website. Before I bought I used it to ask some questions and they were helpful and fast and spoke very good English.. this in itself is a huge relief - I got the question I asked answered directly and honestly.
(The question was, do you charge for changing the details on my account, as most insurers do, and the answer was, they don't, which is another good thing. However you can't do it over the phone, you have to do it yourself, through their website.)
The second good thing, was that I bought my insurance from them with 4 years NCD. WHen I found my previous details to send in as NCD proof, I found I actually have 5. I sent it in (late, expecting them to penalise me for that, but they didn't), and the next day they emailed, saying that as I had 5, they were going to refund me the difference!!
This was entirely voluntary, and knocked about 20% off my insurance cost.
I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but thought I'd write this up, as it's not often that dealing with a car insurer makes you happy.

Wow this must have been the first time anyone has ever recommended Swiftcover...0

They are ok if you are after just third party cover. You can get comprehensive cover with £1000 voluntary excess which often works out cheaper than TPFT, and gain the comprehensive windscreen cover. Their no admin fee for on line account changes is also a plus point these days (see the number of threads from people moaning about getting charged an admin fee for moving house!)0

I'm with Swiftcover now, and have been once before. And both times I have found them to be excellent with their customer service. I am fully comp cover, with business use and they have twice been cheapest quote I've had for all my requirements.
They do have a phoneline, but they then charge for administartive changes done by phone:

The only issue with them is that as standard they do not post insurance certificates out, which are required for taxing at Post Office.
Although I made them post me one out for free

Things seem to go down hill rapidly though when theres a claim.
My gf has ended up with a ccj against her name because of the way swiftcover have handled the situation, this is proving difficult to get sorted as swiftcover dont seem to interested in resolving the issue as she is no longer insured with them.0 -
Ask someone who has ever had a claim with Swiftcover.

Changed from Saga to SwiftCover and saved nearly £200 on my Fully Comp insurance with 13 years protected No Claims! Hopefully I won't have to claim."What does not kill you makes you stronger"0

I had a 'totalled' accident with them. Their service was excellent, so there!0
